چکیده

Zygomatic implants have been in use since the 1990s for the treatment of patients with severely resorbed maxillae. Here, the authors present a modification of the standard zygomatic implant technique that uses up to 3 implants on each side of the maxilla for support of a dental prosthesis.

The maxillary M-4: a technical and biomechanical note for all-on-4 management of severe maxillary atrophy--report of 3 cases.

We present a technical note and 3 case reports of all-on-4 treatment of highly resorbed maxillas. The use of 4 angled implants, placed at as much as 30 degrees off axis, that engage the lateral nasal wall bone provide high torque fixation for immediate temporization. The technique is proposed as an alternative to sinus grafting and for use with multiple implants or zygomatic implants.

Outcome of short implants as an alternative to sinus lift surgery and standard-length implants for rehabilitation of atrophic posterior maxilla: A clinical trial

Background and Aims: The aim of this study was to assess the outcome of short implants (<8 mm length) as an alternative to sinus lift surgery and placement of standard-length implants (10-12 mm length) for rehabilitation of atrophic posterior maxilla. Materials and Methods: In this prospective clinical trial, 26 patients with 6-7 mm of residual alveolar bone height in their atrophic posterior ...

Eye-Lid approach for four zigomatic implant placement in the severely reabsorbed maxillae: technical note.

Up to date, zygomatic implants (ZIs) have been considered a predictable treatment modality for cases of atrophic maxilla. In some severe cases with severe vertical and/or horizontal bone resorption in the anterior maxilla, the placement of standard implants in the anterior area represents a challenge. In these arduous scenarios, performance of a zygomatic "quad-approach" might be advocated. Nev...

Complications of Zygomatic Implants: Our Clinical Experience with 4 Cases.

Zygomatic implants have been used for rehabilitation of the edentulous atrophic maxilla as an alternative to bone grafting for almost two decades resulting in satisfactory clinical outcomes. However, the patients with edentulous atrophic maxilla treated using this technique may present serious complications that could put the prosthetic restoration at risk. Four cases are reported in this paper...

Use of 4 immediately loaded zygomatic fixtures for retreatment of atrophic edentulous maxilla after complications of maxillary reconstruction.

This article reports the 20-month clinical outcome of the use of 4 zygomatic implants with immediate occlusal loading and reverse planning for the retreatment of atrophic edentulous maxilla after failed rehabilitation with autogenous bone graft reconstruction and maxillary implants. The intraoral clinical examination revealed mispositioned and loosened implants underneath a maxillary complete d...
